Hi all,

Had my SDR-1000 for three weeks now and am now getting to grips with it.
Have a few questions though (receiver calibration done using XG2):

The background noise level on the analog inputs (SDR switched off) is around
-86dBfs using a Firebox. Is this normal as it seems high to me (+/- 1 bit at
16 bit resolution gives a theoretical -96dBfs so there is 10dB of noise)?
Also the card is capable of 24bit so noise floor should be lower????

My 80m noise floor in the evening is around -110dBm which equates to around
S5. My K2 shows nothing like this level and "sounds" quieter (although K2 S
meter is only accurate at S9) - does this seem reasonable?

Also have noted that the Firebox is quieter with the external PSU connected
by about 5dB

Cheers,
