There is no need to remove .NET 1.1 to install .NET 2.0. They coexist on my Winbows computer (and have for months).

I suggest everyone read carefully about the two. Do not fall into Microsoft's naming trap. The name .NET is being kept because of the strong branding/marketing that has gone before. There are huge internal differences between the strictly managed extensions of .NET 1.X and the CLI based guts of .NET 2.0. Indeed, the statements on the Microsoft MSDN offerings are that managed extensions are "deprecated" under 2.0 for C++ and they specifically state that CLI is the root of all future development under C++ at least.

Yes you can, and also I believe that you can use .Net v2 only. I didn“t
checked it myself with SDR, but in my job we use v1.1 and we are transitioning
to v2, and they told me that v2 supports v1.1 programs.
