Eric, I have used a PW-1 for years with the Orion and now with the Flex Radio without using the ALC control from the Amp with good success. I simply keep the output of the Orion of the Flex at a level that gives me about 1KW PEP output. If I overdrive the Amp or if the SWR rises the protection circuits in the Amp take over and shut it down, althought that seldom happens. I would assume that the Quadra is the same.
