what performance difference do you see between the 850 and SDR using side
band on 10 meters?

FM signals take the IF from a noise spectrum to a square wave (limited)
spectrum. you may be operating the SDR IF within it's dynamic range, i.e.,
the IF is not in haard limiting. maybe a little more rf gain is in order?

side by side, i can't much difference between the SDR and my 850 on side
band, but my ears are not analytical instruments, and one of them isn't that
good any more! if there is any analytical difference between the two, it is
only a matter of time before the SDR exceeds the boat anchor stuff, and i do
like my 850 boat anchor!
