I had such database corruption incidents several times already.
Same observation, it seems always to happen when transmitting.

I actually would like to see some text based configuration file.

Reasons:
* I don't have MS Office, MS Access is no option. I haven't tested Open Office
Base, nor have I tried the K9DUR database migration utility, though.
* A text file is editabe without any extra program apart from a simple editor.
* Extensions are easy. E.g. bandtables could be easily adapted to regional
needs
* cut & paste of partial contents from an old to a new file is possible (band
plans, PA settings, ...)
* No need to create a new database every time there is any major modification
to PowerSDR.
* Reliability, no corrupt databases any more.
