The Heil Microphones with a Yaesu cable [Bob Heil says thet modified the
wiring scheme so that the cable will now work with a FlexRadio] will plug
directly into the SDR1k and FLEX-5000 8-pin connectors. Also, the FLEX-5000
has a TRS Line input for accepting balanced lines from an external preamp
and other audio devices.
