Hello,

Bad Luck .. I had a lighting stroke into my 70ft tower. The current
travelled over the remote antenna switching box into the shack and destroyed
it. The SDR-1000 was not connected to the antenna and the whole power supply
of the shack was disconnected. The PC was running on a backup-UPS. The
current went over the power supply (it exploded) of the remote antenna
switch into the disconnected power line phase and shut it off, but also
burned the fuses of the 3 phase power supply of the PA (3 x 6 A). The 13.7V
supply of the SDR-1000 was not damaged and the SDR-1000 is drawing 0.8A when
the SDR-1000 is off. With the SDR switched on the current is 1.9A.

The Power SDR Software is still working. The panadapter shows very low noise
level at about -145 dB. There is no sensitivity or signal received. I can
see only random noise, no spurs. Changing bands does not make any relay
operate. There is also no relay heard when T/R switching. The M-Audio Delta
44 is OK, but I did not check the parallel port yet. In transmit there is no
output and no change of current.

My questions to the list are:

Is there any step-by-step procedure to check where the defect is located?

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Where can I get spare modules? (I read that the production has been
stopped).

Thanks in advance for our help.
