Fellow Flexers, Just thought that I would share my personal confirguration and experience with my SDR-5000 and my new computer. I just recently purchased an HP A5162N Desktop Computer. This particular setup is an Intel Quad Core (Q6600) 2.4GHZ, w/3GB RAM running Windows Vitsa Home Premium and also has the built-in 6 pin Firewire Port. I am running PowerSDR version 1.10.2 and this baby runs like a champ. CPU utilization w/Panadapter off is around 6% and w/Panadapter on is around 8%. This computer is just plain old loafing while handling the SDR-5000. I have tried everything that I can to make it hiccup or burp but she's is running great and using a Heil HM5 mic through the front panel 8 pin jack (audio set to 150 - 3100 and compander set at 3), I get great audio reports. BTW, Circuit City just lowered the price on this computer to $799.00 (afer rebate). Here is the link to their website:
