I prefer manuals written by the people who have actually used the
product to manuals written by tech writers who have never used
the product and/or engineers who do not know how to write.

After over 25 years in computers and electronics I can assure you
that the former rather than the later are much more useful and
intelligible.

Case in point. IBM manuals.
