It's not all that hard, but it does take a little work. I have an SDR-1000
that works on all bands from 50MHZ through 3.5GHZ. All it takes is 4
Elecraft transverters for 50, 144, 222, and 432, and 4 DEMI transverters for
902, 1296, 2304 and 3456. Bundle this up with a homebrew UCB, amplifiers and
RX preamps for each band, and stuff it all inside the back seat area of a
pickup truck, and you've got an outstanding mobile station for VHF/UHF.
Pictures on request.

73,

Army - AE5P

Subject: [Flexradio] SDR1000 VHF/UHF Conversion

How easy would it be to convert existing SDR1000s for use on VHF/UHF bands?
Rather than tossing them in the recycle bin self contained units dedicated
to the high bands would be a welcome addition to the SDR technology.
