In checking out my new Flex5000A transmitter on all bands I noticed that on 6
Meters the transmitter output power would decay from 10 watts to 0 over a
period of approximately 6 seconds all other bands were solid.....Tune mode was
utilized to generate the RF output and the ATU was bypassed......A dummy load
was utilized on ANT3 to eliminate issues with VSWR......
I have identified the cause of this abnormal behavior......In my test set-up
the DC power supply used had an output voltage of 14.35 VDC.....Lowering the DC
voltage to < 14.0 VDC eliminated the abnormal behavior seen on 6
meters......This transmitter output power decay behavior was not seen on any
other band ......Though I don't consider this a design flaw it may be prudent
to identify the circuit causing this DC voltage sensitivity....A full DC
voltage range/performance test (13.6 VDC +- 10%) may identify other circuit
sensitivities .......

Hardware = Flex 5000A
Software = PowerSDR 1.10.3
Firmware = 0.1.1.6

Great Rig.....
Cheers....
