Since the software knows what type of radio it is talking to, it should be a simple matter to inhibit access to the form unless the radio is an SDR-1000.

On the other hand PowerSDR is free and provides huge and desirable functionality, while software that is guaranteed to not break the hardware is quite expensive and tends to have less functionality.
