I don't know that the firmware actually has as much as the physical hardware. 
The 5000 in base model has one physical receiver, which essentially 
downconverts a band some 200kHz wide (assuming 192 kHz sample rate).. The 
software on the PC then tunes within that band.  The 2ndRx option adds another 
independently tunable receiver.

The 1500 is a single receiver, as is the 3000. The 1500 samples at 48kHz max, 
and the 3000 at 96 kHz.
