No, the alpha is well within the ratings of the 5K switching.

Thanks,

Are you using a buffer relay between the F5K and the amp?

Subject: [Flexradio] Amp keying 5000A and Alpha 87a

I have been using this combination successfully for a year and a half. Now the
radio will not key the amp. Have tried changing from one port to another on the
radio. Also have tried a hard reset of the radio, all to no avail. The amp will
key manually by shorting the center of the port to ground so this leaves the
problem in the radio.Could it be a firmware problem ? Is there a way to test
the keying circuit in the 5000 without sending it back to Austin ?

Any help will be appreciated.
