Without 3rd party software, SDR1000, Flex3k and 5k are "DRM Receive only."
from the KB -
"Digital Radio Mondiale or DRM (www.drm.org) on the shortwave bands is
easily decoded using the Dream software receiver
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/drm/) and PowerSDR's DRM mode. PowerSDR and
Dream may also be used as an experimental transmitter for digital audio,
text messages and images."
Dream or other 3rd party software is required and it -is possible- to
transmit DRM but not very practical. I would recommend WinDRM for
transmitting.
..and I really need to update the KB for transmitting DRM. This was written
a "long time ago" in Flex time and the software and hardware has changed a
little since then. :-) Dream can now reliably control the Flex receive
frequency with CAT providing one click tuning from the "Stations" listing.

It's not clear to me from the kb article Tim if DRM transmission is
possible
or not using Flex 5000 functionality.
As the Flex 5000 is a transceiver and the PowerSDR Mode control determines
its mode of reception and transmission, it would seem logical to me that
choosing any mode would allow transmission in that mode. The flex manual
doesn't say otherwise.
Could you clarify the powersdr Mode controls?
