Hope this provides some ah-ha for others!
Returned from a quick family emergency trip and powered back the FLEX 5000 and the PC dedicated to running same... Didn't change a thing a single line of code - honest! J Couldn't understand why the tuning response to the mouse wheel was so slooowwwww... the spectrum display would freeze and the tuning response was glacial - like one step per second. After some troubleshooting I isolated the problem... I had the CAT control configured to enable the Kenwood "AI" command driving into a Com0Com serial "port pair" but with nothing open on the other side of the pair... I had set this before closing everything done prior to leaving last week to drive one of my logging programs... It appears that every frequency change causes PowerSDR to attempt to output an AI command (as it should) but then hangs on some response (or time out) on the Com0Com serial port response. Removing "Enable AI" command got everything back to normal!
