Steve, I was one of the early V/U recipients, and thanks to the folks at Flex received mine just in time for the September VHF contest last year. With it, I was able to work a rover near San Antonio, some 300 air miles west of me. There are no mountains here, only rolling hills at most and a 300 mile Q on 2M for me is very exciting. I am very pleased with the V/U module and highly recommend it.
I know others are using it for EME and various terrestrial digital modes, and I'll let them comment on their experiences. I bought this mainly for V/U contesting on those 2 bands and wonder if anyone is using outboard transverters or the v/u upgrade. Are we looking at too much radio in one box?
