I don't recall a price of $1100 (approx.) ever being quoted for the VU module. There *was* a "Sale Price" of $1147 that lasted from late 2009 until right around the time that the VU module was actually available, at which time the price went back to the originally advertised $1296. I took advantage of that deal; my card was not charged until my upgraded rig was ready to ship back to me.
I too am disappointed that the repeater functions are not yet available in PowerSDR, but I'm intending to play with satellite communications when I get the antenna up.
