Hope this isn't too far off topic but I continue to look for more economical amplifier alternatives than the THP HL45-B to go behind my new 1500. I will be fine with 5 watts on digital and CW but I'd like a little more "oomph" for SSB. I recall seeing mention of the AN-762 circuit board and parts assortments from Communications Concepts here before. I believe a gent here actually built one and has it working behind a 1500 but I can't remember his name or call. I've built kits before but these don't really qualify as kits. While I have no doubt in my ability to solder all the parts in place on the board, I wonder what else it takes as far as test equipment and such to get one of these up and running as a working amplifier. I also have never wound toroids before which gives me pause about constructing the low pass filters the amp would need for the various bands it would be used on. Can anyone either comment or direct me to some links for practical applications of this circuit?
Tnx and 73,
Michael, W4HIJ
