It is up to the operator to determine what he/she deems the acceptable frame rate to be. If you have a processor that is fast enough then it probably doesn't matter if you want to run a faster frame rate. If your computer is on the performance edge, you can squeeze out more performance by dropping the frame rate. In my 4-core AMD system for my 5000 I normally run with my frame rate set to 23 fps. This is very close to the 24fps used in movie theaters so it provides a good, flicker-free, display. I don't see any real advantage on the display by using a faster frame rate. OTOH, if you are looking for short-duration transient signals, a faster frame rate and a smaller DSP buffer will help you see that at the cost of filter performance and panadaptor resolution. -- Brian Lloyd, WB6RQN/J79BPL 3191 Western Dr. Cameron Park, CA 95682 [email protected] +1.767.617.1365 (Dominica) +1.931.492.6776 (USA) (+1.931.4.WB6RQN) _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
