Bruce, I am a happy user of the Hercules Interface with the Flex 5000A . To answer your two questions: 1. No, focus is NOT required. This is the best part.
2. For CWX memories, not available on the current version. However, I put in a request to the author, Tobias, he said he hoped to include CW memories with the next version. The other day, Tobias advised that business traveles have delayed some upgrades, but expects to have a new version within two weeks. In the meantime, the interface operates perfectly well with many many options for the various knobs, buttons, sliders. The only thing, the Hercules interface is rather large which may be a drawback for some. I place it next to the keyboard on an under desktop keyboard drawer. Also, I'm trying to figure an easy way to indentify or remember what function I set the various buttons to perform. I use it primarily for Frequency control, RIT, and CW keyer wpm adjust. Did I mention Focus is not required on PowerSDR? Amazon sells the interface for price of a tank of gas, the software driver is free. Does this thing have the same MS focus issues that the ShuttlePRO has? 2. Can it control the Canned CW in CWX? 73, Bruce, W8HW ----- Original Message ----- From: "Terry Maurice" To: Sent: Sunday, May 15, 2011 9:20 PM Subject: Re: [Flexradio] Hercules interface > Thanks for posting the links. > > What is the "feel" of these tuning knobs on the Hercules?
