I've been having and RFI problem on 17m since I first got capability for that
band last year. My new Flex-5000 has that problem,
and the Flex-3000 before it, and the K3 before it and the IC-7600 before it.
Every article has been read, and many pounds of
suitable ferrite installed essentially everywhere. All the other bands are
fine -- but 17m is, how shall we say... possessed. I
have counterpoises actually tuned for 17m, and a feedline common mode choke the
provides over 1800 ohms isolation from1.8MHz to
21MHz. But when I turn on vox on 17m and speak there is "audio" showing on the
vox input after I stop talking. It was far worse
with a ProSet Plus-IC on the IC element, and better, but still bad on the HC-4
element or a ProSet HC-6. What RF susceptibility
suppression techniques work best on the Flex-5000?
