I would be very interested to hear from any Flexers who have used their Flex 5000A rigs with the VHF/UHF for weak signal SSB work, meteor scatter or EME. I wonder how the Flex compares to transverters designed for weak signal work, such as the DEMI L144-28HP. I live in an area that has some intermittent interference problems on 2m and wonder which of these two options would be best for rejection of intermod. Would the high sensitivity of a transverter be lost to intermod issues?

I presently have a Flex 5000A with the RX2 and ATU, so the convenience of having all the band functions fully integrated into the Flex 5000 is very attractive, but in the end the ability of the receiver to dig out those weak signals is an overriding factor. I would also be interested in hearing from others who use their Flex 5000A with transverters as to how well the combination works.

Thanks for any comments.
