Mark,
I fired off last nights email just before hitting the sack . While
drifting to sleep, I realized I might have been at the low edge of the
432 band as defined with a begin frequency of 432 in the XVTR setup. So
I checked this morning and indeed that is the case. If I make sure that
my negative offset frequency added to the dial frequency is greater than
432.000000 then the negative frequency works for both tune and the key
button in CWX. I think this may still be a bug as I thought the dial
frequency should reflect the frequency taking the LO Error into
consideration.
What are your observations?

Mark,
I am running W7 64 bit. My 432 transceiver is Band Button #3. I have
replicated what you describe. However, I noticed if I do not use the
tune button before keying the transmitter, then the transmitter keys
with RF output using the negative number with the CWX key button. If I
use the tune button with a negative number, then it no longer outputs
power with the negative number until I make it positive again. Strange
bug. I guess I am fortunate that my offset is positive. With Dayton
going on, this probably won't get a response until after Dayton. Looks
like you have a reason to file a bug report.

More information about my problem:
Apparently my unit is an older one that has a higher drive
requirement. The
book says 5mw-500mw. That seems to be correct as I can get about 1
watt out
at full drive(+5dbm ~ 3mw). That problem is not what concerns me.
It's the
problem of not being able to correct the LO error.
I have an Elecraft 2M transverter assigned to position #2 on the XVTR
screen. It WILL accept a negative number in the offset field. I went
back
and checked this last night.
When I added the 423 unit to the #3 position I discovered that negative
numbers in the offset field will prevent the F5K from keying when the
TUNE
button is clicked. The background on the TUNE button changes but the
relay
never clicks and there is no output power. Change the offset back to a
positive number and everything works.
Is it just my radio or can anyone else verify this?
