This is a good thread. I will keep a copy and study it more thoroughly as time permits.
Two things I have found on conjunction with running PSDR 2.4 on my system: I have had good luck with Advanced System Care (currently at release 6). There is a free version downloadable on CNET. They (the people at CNET) think highly of the product. I just bought a 1 year single seat license for $14.77. It seems to make the system snappier (now there's a laboratory metric for you). I have found that CARBONITE (a background service/program that backs up your data to the cloud and provides restore and access from multiple platforms) can have a negative impact on PowerSDR. Normally, my CPU utilization running PowerSDR 2.4 and HRD runs between .9 and 4%. When Carbonite is doing it's thing, CPU can spike up to 25%. I have also experienced audio drop outs and having to restart PSDR. If you run Carbonite on your system, I'd recommend turning it off when using your Flex. You can turn it back on when you're done. FYI, hardware here is a Dell 8300, i7 3.7 MHz quad core, 12 GB of RAM all running Win. 7/64-Pro. 73 Bill Roberts Radio Station K8DXX As I receive so many emails daily, please do not forward anything to me unless absolutely urgent. I want to hear from you. I am not interested in everyone's forwards. Thank you. _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List [email protected] http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flexradio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flexradio.com/
