Wow, that's an amazing job he's done.
And just when I was getting used to no more updates!

KE9S is already well on the way of building add on and fix's for PowerSDR
that works on the FLEX 5K, so maybe some coders out there could join forces
with him and come up with some cool things and keep the radio series alive
and well.

Excellent!
In addition, anyone interested in this should reach out to the larger
non-Flex community. As I recall, several devices (Softrock, etc.) operated
with PowerSDR as well. There are also several receive only devices out
there these days that run off of other open source SDR software. It seems
like there is or ought to be a larger community that could be tapped for
this by adding support for some of those devices. Since hardware of that
sort continues to be produced, it would also be a potential source of
programmers and support.

I have created a PowerSDR repo on github at:

I have already got it to compile and work with VS 2013. I plan on
adding a
web server to is so it will accept ReST web services calls.
Enjoy.

From Flex's perspective, one of the benefits of open sourcing PSDR was

PSDR, everyone wins.
In my experience, vibrant open source communities rarely spring into
existence on their own. Creating and nourishing such a community
requires a
significant effort. One or two self-motivated developers is a good
start,
but if you want something that is long-term sustainable, you'll need to
organize and recruit accordingly.
My SDR-1500 is mothballed, I'm now a 6500 user, and my open source
management cycles are already consumed by LoTW/TQSL. Advice will be the
limit of my contribution to this effort.
