Over Christmas I migrated from a 32bit Windows 2003 Standard server to a
64bit Windows 2008 (RC1) Web Server. The effort for migration itself was
under 15 minutes and simply consisted of copying a Zip file of the virtual
folder, moving that zip file to the new server, unzipping that in a new
virtual folder and setting the application pool for the virtual server. This
included all my plugins as well. No recompiles or anything, it was so smooth
it hardly seemed worth commenting on - but it was cool to see it work first
time out.
Since then it has been running with 200 - 400 hits per day (nearly all
reads) with no effort for the single processor AMD cpu with 512 MB.
