Fortunately (?) my wife didn't go into labour on Sunday, and I was able to run FG at the event. There's a rather dull picture here showing the setup of a single projector and a joystick: http://wiki.flightgear.org/File:FlightGear_demo_at_museum.jpg Not quite up to the standards of the LinuxTAG Team :) Nevertheless, the event was a success, with lots of compliments on the quality of the simulator. Over 6 hours I had some 100 visitors try the landing simulation and handed out lots of flyers. FG on Linux remained completely stable throughout, despite being re-initialized every 2 minutes throughout the day. Over the 6 hours, memory occupancy grew from 970MB to 1.3GB. Not bad! I've updated the Expo Checklist* with some more lessons learned. The main one is not to try to do this alone in future! I was fortunate to have a friend drop by in the morning and get me a drink, but otherwise I was stuck by the booth for 6 hours solid without a bathroom break. -Stuart * http://wiki.flightgear.org/FlightGear_Expo_Checklist ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
