Hmmm, I'm still having problems hearing the rumble.wav correctly.  I
tried playing around with converting it to 8 bit, but then I hear
nothing for the rumble sound.

Looking at the plib sl web page doesn't help me as much as I hoped.
Plib seems to support 8 and 16 bit samples as well as mono and stereo.
However, it's not so clear what happens when you mix sound types, or
specify a playback rate that's different from the sample rate.
