If it ain't broke don't fix it :-)

AFAIK the main reason that FreeGlut was written was because some
apps have problems with 'tyranical hold' that GLUT has on the event loop.

The original author got things to where they work, and then lost interest
has he had solved his problems. He let it be known there was going to
be no further development on his part so the PLib team decided to take
over 'ownership' instead of just letting it disappear.

AFAICT it delivers as advertised,
The PLib team would be interested in hearing about it NOT working.
but I do not believe there are any 'near term' plans todo anything other
then possible bug fixing for FreeGlut

FWIW
I don't see any compelling reason for FGFS to adopt FreeGlut as GLUT
seems to compile and work everywhere FGFS does.

FYI
I did build a FreeGlut based FlightGear once circa FGFS version 0.70
It didn't seem to have any problems but it didn't seem to have enough
advantages to require a 'new' package dependency so quit experimenting
with it.

End of story

Cheers

Norman
