Yesterday morning, I put in some changes that add the ability to set
glideslope and climb rate from the command line.
For example, try:
fgfs --altitude=1000 --vc=80 --glideslope=-3 --offset-distance=3
and you should find yourself in a steady descent towards the default
runway at KSFO. Assuming you don't change your descent rate or speed
this should take you right down to the threshold (heading corrections
will still be required).

I'm currently working on a function to automatically calculate the 
altitude if given a glideslope and offset distance or calculate the 
offset given a glideslope and heading.
