Actually it didn't affect that problem.  Did you see my earlier comments on 
larger more complex models solving the problem?  The larger the model, the
less breaks in sound, until really complex models eliminate it all together. 
As the frame rate goes down, the sound problem decreases.

This observation seems opposite of expectation, but then again I don't know
much about how the software and hardware layers interact while rendering 3d.
