Thanks Erik,

Yes, this worked. It took me awhile to figure out that
the code I had modified was taken out because its function
was replaced by the definitions in the xxx-sound.xml files.
I wanted to make the wind sound stronger and more dependent
on the airspeed. My test pilot told me I ought to make it
dependent on beta, too, because sailplanes get much noisier
when sideslipping.

Mark

That's because of the way the model loader works.
Since the dc doesn't have a specific sound configuration file (yet), it
inherrits that of the c172.

For some models David seems to have disabled sound (or was already the
case?)

Mark, which aircraft are you talking about, is it your own?
If so you should change the SGS-set.xml file the following way:

<sound>true</sound>  should become:

<sound>
  <audible>true</audible>
  <path>Aircraft/SGS/sgs-sound.xml</path>
</sound>

And you should copy the Aircraft/c172/c172-sound.xml file to
Aircraft/SGS/sgs-sound.xml

Now you could remove the <crank> and <engine> sections because it's a
sail plane :-)

Erik
