It's very hard to get it exactly right. The problem is that both JSBSim and YASim sample only one ground position for the elevation under all gear, but nearly every surface in FlightGear slopes at least slightly. That means that when you look from the right, the wheels might appear to be floating 6 in above the ground, while from the left, the wheels might appear to be sunk 6 in underground.
