If Danie isn't able to get you all of the information that you need on DC-3s, you could try contacting the Santa Monica Air Museum. SMO (then, possibly still called Clover Field) was home to Douglas, and (I believe) the DC-3 was built and/or designed there. The museum (or someone closely associated with the museum) operates a DC-3 for "joy rides" and the museum likely has a considerable amount of data available.
