Well, there are the:
    1) directional threshold lights (green on the approach, red on the
departure end)
    2) 5, 6, 7, whatever combinations (arrangements) of approach lights
    3) runway centerline lights
    4) extended centerline lights and running strobe lights
    5) VASI (Visual Approach Slope Indicator) lights
    6) runway distance markers (numbered shadow boxes)
    7) blue taxiway lights, and
    8) the rotating airfield beacon (white-green->civilian,
white-white-green->military)

My druthers would be #2 , #5,  #4

BTW: I'm sure most of us are aware. but perhaps it bears repeating. The
runway/approach lights are only illuminated for the active runways so some
sort of "switch(s)" need to be provided and logic to select the active based
on local wind conditions and set the light configurations. Also the
intensity of the lights can be controlled from the tower for those really
dark and stormy nights or peasoup foggy mornings

Regards
JW
