For the big iron, yes, but for small piston planes I personally think volume is fine - after all, the panel guages are instrumented in volume, the pilots think in volume (AFAIK), and a float type fuel guage sender measures volume. BTW, clicking reply is defaulting to the poster rather than the list, is this something wrong on my end or have the list settings changed?
