I've been looking at laptops a bit. The high end Dells with nice GeForce chips are way out of my price range. Sony makes a few Viao's, but I don't really like their feel very much. Toshiba makes several models with GeForce graphics, but they are *big* and bulky and probably out of my price range too. Compaq makes several models that look very nice and are more in the ball park for what I could afford. However, they have ATI graphics. Under windows, these have opengl graphics and I know there has been recent headway with ATI opengl drivers under linux.
Does anyone know if it's possible to get these laptop ATI video thingies running accelerated under Linux?
