This is totally OT, but one or the other list member might have access
to an up-to-date database of airports.
Last time I went to Budapest (LHBP), I noticed that we approached the
airport at a heading around 090 and were well south of the city. I
thought to myself that we must be doing a left turn onto the final leg
to land on 31L or 31R, but this turn never happened, we landed
straight in. Given that, according to all information I could find,
there are only two runways, both in 13/31 direction, I gather we must
have landed on a taxiway :-).
BTW, if you land into 13L/R, the localizer takes you above the north
part of the city, so we were definitely quite far from that.
Anyone know of a new runway at LHBP (Budapest Ferihegy), or where I
can find more up-to-date information about it?
It was a British Airways A319, before someone asks...
