To the Saitek X45 configuration I've added a binding for the mode switch and have set the rudder control to use differential braking in mode 3 only. Also I changed the view reset so it grabs the viewer config data now. Just thought I'd mention this as I'm not sure who actually did the original X45 config. All the previous behavior still works.
<drivel about leaving sidewinder for the x45> BTW that USB Sidewinder Precision 2 that I mentioned a while back finally bit the dust (2nd one). Well...at least Microsoft's remedy of plugging and unplugging from the USB while the computer was off stopped working. Granted I only tried two times before I decided that it wasn't going to work, but previously it had always worked first time. I wasn't comfortable doing it anyway since, if nothing else, it seemed like a good way to wear out the contacts in the ports. Somewhere someone said that the static build-up problem was because the stick has a metal cover on the bottom. Gotta admit it is the only stick I've seen with a metal bottom. Who knows. It clearly seems to be a design flaw of some sort, either the stick or the USB ports or both. In any case Best Buy took it back on a return warranty and being right after christmas the only thing they had that looked any good was the X45 (earlier I bypassed the X45 because it looked too big for my desktop). It took a little getting used to, but now I'd have to say this one is much better than the Sidewinder Precision (especially the most recent model with it's static build-up wierdness). The throttle (although huge) is much handier than the sidewinder's for flying approaches, and the large number of buttons and knobs make it so you can put they keyboard off to the side and place the controllers right in front of the screen. </drivel> Best, Jim _______________________________________________ Flightgear-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.flightgear.org/mailman/listinfo/flightgear-devel
