Ailerons, elevator, rudder, and throttle (channels 1 through 4) are supported. Channels 5 through 8 are used to emulate the four standard joystick buttons.
To work this out, I added the USB device to ~/fgfsbase/joystick.xml <!-- Lew Engineering RCJOY device for various RC transmitters. http://www.leweng.com --> <js-named include= "Input/Joysticks/LewEngineering/RC-transmitter-hitecLaser4.xml"/>
and I added the file RC-transmitter-hitecLaser4.xml noted above.
With the RCJOY USB box + cable and a supported radio, it should work for anyone.
