Haven't flown a C-5, but know about the trim system.
The C-5 autotrim system uses stick force feedback with
a delay and slow trim motor rate. When x lb of force
is sensed on the column (via strain guages)
continuously for y sec, the trim motor turns very
slowly in the correct direction changing the whole
stabilizer angle. There are limiter switches on
stabilizer position. The system may be changed to a
manual mode by the pilot.
