If you have any confusion as to what the equivalant paths are in the
Cygwin Unix world vs. the Windows world experiment with 'cygpath'
to translate between the two.
<554> nhv
$ cygpath
Usage: cygpath (-d|-m|-u|-w|-t TYPE) [-c HANDLE] [-f FILE] [options] NAME
cygpath [-ADHPSW] ........
Just remember that you will need to quote '\' or double them up
ie.
<563> nhv
$ cygpath ~
/home/nhv
<564> nhv
$ cygpath -w /home/nhv
D:\home\nhv
<565> nhv
$ cygpath -u 'D:\home\nhv'
/home/nhv
** safe 'mixed mode' **
<566> nhv
$ cygpath -m 'D:\home\nhv'
D:/home/nhv
** error **
<567> nhv
$ cygpath -u D:\home\nhv
D:homenhv
