It seemed like it'd be ok to commit what I have so far for 3d instrumentation in the boeing 747-400. Screen shot:
http://www.spiderbark.com/fgfs/747-400-panel-01.png Basically it works but there are a few problems: 1. I need to go back over the geometry for 16bit depth. It does work on the 16mb tnt2 card on a spare computer here, but it doesn't look so hot. The frame rate was amazingly good, considering the weight of this work...which brings me to the next problem. 2. There's no way around being heavy textured when modeling the entire cockpit. It remains to be seen how far I get modeling the entire thing. You can bet I won't be buying a new vid card to replace my GF2mx just to do this. But, at this stage of the game there's some wasteful texturing. My apologies. Once I figure out what I need on this stuff I'll be cleaning that all up. I promise :-) If you have a GeForce2MX 32mb equivelant or better this will work fine for now. It works fine on my TNT2 16 733mhz (133mhz bus) system, but see #1 if you forgot what I said already. I'm developing on the GF2mx machine. 3. Basically the PFD and 2ND EFIS display are working with MCP controls only. There is no FMC :-). The MCP isn't lit up yet, meaning no displayed values and no clickability has been added to anything. The GUI dialogs work though. The annunciators on the EFIS displays might be wrong. I'm looking stuff up, but if you notice something let me know. The 2ND EFIS is basically displaying some navcom things and an HSI. There is only one mode...and to be honest I have very little idea about how accurate it is. Suggestions welcome. Eventually I may add multiple EFIS display modes but for now these are it. There are some technical issues regarding texture caching and plib that need to be resolved first. Enjoy!
