Ah Ha!

The version of Docs/fgfs-model-howto.html
is different online than Docs/model-howto.html offline.

I was looking into the offline version and when I looked online I find more 
info.

I'd used the <center> as well.. but was using the Y axis and not the Z axis, 
which made it look like it was rotating around the center of the cockpit.

Got it moving from the correct position now...   what's left is getting the 
factor correct so it does not go out past the side of the gauge!
