FAQ's 5.1 is not a bug, it's a feature :-) Current Linux distributions
_should_ know about /usr/local/lib/.
I'm wondering how you managed to install MetaKit at all, because what you
get from CVS checout does'nt install already for a long time:
[...]
/bin/sh ./libtool --mode=install /usr/bin/install -c libmk4.la
/usr/local/FlightGear/lib
/usr/bin/install -c .libs/libmk4.lai /usr/local/FlightGear/lib/libmk4.la
^^^
/usr/bin/install: cannot stat `.libs/libmk4.lai': No such file or directory
make: *** [install-mk] Fehler 1
This is why I still stick to 'v248',
