I've updated the scenery lighting to reflect the real world some more. Sunlight is actually reflected now, ambient uses cloud color instead of view direction dependent fog color. It's still a bit of a guess but if some one could point me to information about real world experiments I would be very grateful (I didn't find anything so far).
I've been thinking about the fact that the sun position would be calculated in twice now, but since the ambient, diffuse and specular color tables are defined against a completely white color that would not be a problem. The colors are just mixed together now.
If this isn't the case we should find ways to get rid of the tables because they are much too static. I haven't taken humidity and cloud layers into account yet, but that is definitely something which should be taken care of.
