I don't get it. Is this OpenGL implementation dependent or something? I get much better result with this patch.
What depth buffer do you have? I tested it with my O2 and my NVidia/Linux PC (both with depth buffer bits = 24) and both with good results.
Could be a 16bpp issue? I'll check it out by running on a tnt2 later.
It looks like that's the case. I've put a possible fix in CVS.
