Good evening,
When I was a hang glider pilot we would live for
turbulence. It came with thermal lift. When you were struggling to
stay in tight ratty little thermals it also made the time pass much more
quickly. Hours would go by in minutes. There were a few times we
were blessed with magic ridge lift that would carry you gently for hours, only
then would you notice things like boredom or harness sores.
At Dog Mountain (near Mt. St. Helens in WA
state) on late Summer evenings after the sun had been
hitting the valley all day, when the wind stopped the whole
valley lifted at once - as smooth as glass. Sometimes you could
fly all over the valley for 4-5 hours. The time passed slower in smooth
air, but I don't remember getting bored as we had Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens
to look at and hawks and eagles to share the sky with. Haven't seen that
in a simulator - yet.
If you want to check out the terrain and view it is
near Eatonville, WA - MSFS may have it modeled.

noticable difference - my seat here at home doesn't move.
