I manage to throw together a rough model of a turbo-fan which I passed along
to Dave Culp and it may have found it's way to Jon Berndt. But it is
definitely not ready-for-prime-time. I just needed something to drive the
EICAS panel and provide a set of engine parameters that responded to
throttle movements. It will show you how to set up the code within the
JSBSim architecture and engine properties to FG. I'll be happy to pass it
along in its current condition if you are interested.

There are a couple of websites sponsored by NASA on turbine modeling and you
might check out John Reed's site and papers at
http://memslab.eng.utoledo.edu/~jreed/jgts/

Modeling all the details and intricacies of a turbine engine can be a
career, OTH a more complete turbine model for FG would be a plus. Just a
thought; it would be neat to accumulate engine time, thermal stress, gear
drive wear & tear, engine trim conditions, etc to provide a variance in
turbine performance and some randomness to multi-engine aircraft. Four sets
of gauges all showing the same rpm, egt, n1, n2, etc is kind of boring ;-)

Regards
John W
